Last June 2, 2010 an event was held in SM Naga City and with the efforts of Department of Environment and Department of Trade and Industry,  I was able to see this wonderful creations of different local entrepreneurs who had joined to show their very unusual creations.

Yes, just as you see in the title, this items were considered trash by many people but for them they were like gold, very precious and with their creativity and knowledge this trash were made into a great crafts for us to appreciate.

I was able to talk with one of the participant in the event, he was just an ordinary man but his talent is really extraordinary.  He created bags using old newspapers and water lilies too.  I have a grand time chatting with him and just as you know he has no formal training on this craft.  Yes, we both remember that this was a project from elementary days.  If you also studied  in a public school you must be very well aware that your THE teacher teaches you how to make a bag out of a yellow pages.   I do remember that i have made not just a bag but also a picture frame, a decoration, a wallet and yes a place mat.   Just as he said, he used this learnings from his elementary days and with his inborn creativeness, he was able to create a more beautiful creations.

There is also another participant who uses different buttons and made into a very creative and beautiful pieces of  women accessories.  Their name was FARM or fabulously and absolutely rural-made  by Bidibidi.

You know my passion about accessories and I would not miss a chance to have one of this, that’s why i bought one for a souvenir and also a sign of my participation on this cause.  I bought the orange earrings and yes I have a picture of it although i forgot to download them. LOL.

If you are interested to buy or help this cause you can check their website to learn more about their products and also their passion to create beautiful masterpieces of accessories that was very affordable.

May all of us learn the value of recycling and let us not forget that their is always money from trash.  Yes, my neighbor in my hometown is a living proof of that.  Their business is  a junk shop who buy (bote, dyaryo, garapa) .  I have many fond memories with it especially when i see great books and clean school things, I would ask their permission to have it and they would  readily give it to me.
