TCP- Computer Geeks 101

Of course, i like Keanu Reeves and yes you would think that he is one of my crushes considering that i have already blog about him a dozen times perhaps. LOL.  Yes, i also love his movies, it was really good and interesting.

For this theme today.  I was thinking to choose the Matrix because it was a very modern and based on a computer world too but i prefer to choose his other movie Johnny Mnemonic.  Before this movie was released , i have already read the book  so i already know the story of it but i also appreciate the movie because of course it is more easy to understand watching them than reading them with all those. (dot, dot….. and numbers in the book).   Well this movie is really shown a  long time ago and to tell you the truth , i could not remember the full story of it, so i have to rely on the internet for the sypnosis.

In 2021, the whole world is connected by the gigantic Internet, and almost a half of the population is suffering from the Nerve Attenuation Syndrome (NAS).Johnny with an inplanted memory chip in his brain was ordered to transport the over loaded information from Beijing to Newark. While Pharmakom Industries supported by yakuza tries to capture him to get the informaiton back, the Low-tech group led by J-Bone tries to break the missing code to download the cure of NAS which Johnny carries.

The year is 2021, and half of the Earth’s population is suffering from the disease known as Nerve Attenuation Syndrome (NAS). Johnny, a mnemonic data courier, is hired to carry 320 gigabytes of crucial information to safety from the Pharmacom corporation. Pursued by Yakuza agents and a crazed cyborg, Johnny must deliver the data or die in twenty-four hours.

Enjoy Watching!

Tuesday Couch Potato- Knowing, The Day the Earth Stood Still and the Day after Tomorrow

Today’s theme is all about Apocalyptic movie.  I also like the movie 2012 but i know that this movie is very recent and another thing, whenever i think of this movie, it makes me feel uneasy, i could not say that i am already prepared for the possible occurrence in 2010 so i am still trying to forget this one.  So i decided to post my two other favorites.  I really could not choose one because these two are really worth watching for.

If you have not watch them, i really recommend that you do.

I really like this movie especially the ending, when  Nicolas Cage accepts the truth that the world is going to end and along with his family, they gathered together and just hug each other embracing the fact that they will all be perished.  It was heart touching and very moving.

Keannu is one of my all time favorite actor since i first saw him! LOL, i used to have big posters of him in my room and i am always looking forward in every movie he make. This particular movie is a remake of the 1951 classic sci-fi movie, he plays an alien sent by his planet to save the earth for a possible destruction from another alien that was also sent along him. The people thought that he is a threat but later on they have learned that he was really there to save human kind.

2 Fast 2 Furious

I like this movie. It’s one of fast action movie that i really admire.  Their first movie is a huge success up to its succeeding movies.  Although in the movie 2 fast and 2 furious, Vin Diesel was no longer around, the story line is still  beautiful and the cast were all fit for their role.  Ooh, not to forget the beautiful cars shown on the movie.

Why everybody loves Julia?

ho would not know this beautiful gal from Atlanta, Georgia who dominated not just Hollywood but also well loved by many people around the globe.  She was one of the highest paid actresses in the world and she has been named one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” eleven times, tied with Halle Berry. (wikipedia).

To date, she has done 44 films , had been nominated on most of them and was able to receive awards from numerous award giving body. She also appeared in 7 television episodes and is now currently living the life she wanted with her family and childrens.

So, if you would ask me, which movie Julia had made that I like most, I really could not  make a choice.  I love her movies, I have watched most of them,  yet if you would really insist that I should rank it then here are my top 3.

Top 3 -  Erin Brockovich – In this film, she portray a single mother of three children who make a stand and fight for what is right.

She won 9 Best Actress Award in this movie.

Top 2

Pretty Woman- who would forget this film and who would forget  their sound track? ” Oh pretty woman – they must be referring to me. LOL .

It must have been love by Roxette is one of my fave song too.

And my Top 1

yes, I totally love her character here and given the fact that Hugh Grant was his love interest in this movie (Hugh Grant is one of my crushes in my high school years)LOL.

A well known actress falls in love with a simple guy.  I have watched this movie for 5 times  and I totally love her line  “I’m a just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her” .

Well, that is love! Love, love, love.

Shutter Island Movie and more

Last night, I was not able to make a blog post and to upload the Poll for the Wonderful Contest as well.  The reason?  We watch “Shutter Island” on DVD, yes, I know the screening of the movie will be on April 14 and “Yes” we had watch it in the comfort of our own living room.

I have been a huge fan of Leonardo DiCaprio on my early teen years.  Who would not fall in love with this unforgettable hunk although some of my friends will still insists that he looks like a (gay) *hmp. LOL.  I even had a huge poster of him on my room (of course – beside my  Keanu Reeves poster wearing levis jeans on his early modelling career).

I do remember winning that poster on a contest I have joined on my high school days – it includes a poster, a notebook, stationary and a ballpen ) yes all with Leonardo DiCaprio’s picture on it.  (So sad, I could not remember where it was now,  when I moved out from our house, that was one of my things that I forgot to bring) . (But hubby can attest on that poster, i even bring the poster of Keanu Reeves on my boarding house)LOL and of course, he made me put it away when he saw it. (LOL)

I have watch many of Leo’s movies, among them are “This boy’s Life “, Romeo and Juliet, Marvin’s Room,  Titanic, The Man in the Iron Mask, The Beach, Catch me if you can, The Aviator, Blood Diamond, The Departed, “The 11th Hour, Body of Lies, his recent movies including  Revolutionary Road and now Shutter Island.  (well, it  just happen that I also like his acting).

Leo even produced some movies:

2004 The Assassination of Richard Nixon Executive producer
The Aviator Executive producer
2007 The 11th Hour Producer
Gardener of Eden Producer
2008 Greensburg Producer
2009 Atari Producer
Orphan

Shutter Island was really a great movie and Martin Scorsese was one of the greatest director this world can have and Dennis Lehane, the author of the book with the same name was really unbelievable.  I would really recommend that you watch this movie but just a precaution, have a handy water beside you because you will be losing some breath along the way. LOL
